Tēnā koe e hoa 👋
Wow - what a weekend we had at the MWDI Businesswomen’s Awards!
We felt incredibly humbled to have Amy and Te Kāinga Wāhine recognised as a finalist in Te Amorangi - People & Capability at the Awards on Friday night.
Our team, our whānau, friends and many others from across the motu came together to celebrate Kaipakihi Wāhine Māori in the most amazing way. Led by MC Stacey Morrison, it was a night that reminded us of how much we can achieve as Wāhine Māori, and how important it is to celebrate along the way.
If you’ve been around here for a while, one thing you’ll know is we’re really passionate about shining a light on those wāhine who are doing epic things quietly. So it was amazing to see wāhine in a range of industries, from billboards, to logging, to dentistry and more!
Speaking of billboards - the supreme winner, Andrea Rongonui of Go Media had our heart on the night - Wahine Toa! You can read more about her here.
We hope to spotlight some of these amazing Kaipakihi that we came across in the coming weeks, so watch this space.
Until next week, keep being amazing!

🎊 A Wrap Up: Our Six Month Business Development Programme
It’s hard to believe that six months has gone by just like that, but next week we come together for our final noho wānanga with our participants of our six month business development programme.
This programme was piloted this year with 10 participants, and funded by Te Puni Kōkiri.
What we’ve seen over the past six months, is the strength of the collective. Ehara tāku toa i te toa takitahi, engari he toa takitini. In the coming month, we are excited to share with you the impacts of the programme and what it has meant to be part of Te Kāinga Wāhine for this rōpū.
We’ll also be sharing ways that you can get involved as a supporter of future cohorts, or as a member of our community.
Watch this space wāhine mā!
