TKW Newsletter : 2024 At The Tēpu 🥂
Ngā mihi o te tau hou e hoa 👋
Welcome to 2024!
We hope you’ve been welcoming in the new year in your style - whether that’s at the beach, at the whānau camping spot, or over at the aunty’s tēpu - however you’ve spent the last few days we hope they’ve been fueling and you’re now fizzing to roll into 2024.
Over here at Te Kāinga Wāhine we’ve been shuffling things around - and we wanted to take this opportunity to re-introduce you to our newsletter, it’s had a bit of a makeover!
When I was a kid, I remember all the best stories were shared at the tēpu at my grandparents house. Not only the best stories, but Nana’s memorable cakes would appear, we’d eat copious amounts of mince and potatoes, and there’d always be room, in the second stomach, for dessert. 🍰🍰
Nana’s tēpu always had a spread ready to go for the next person who walked in the door. The kettle was always a moment away from boiling, and if you were really lucky, Grandad would pull a few shiny coins out of his pockets to go into yours.
I remember stories of the past being shared there. Dreams for the future. And of course, a little gossip about the present.
The tēpu was a place of gathering, sharing and connecting. Just like this newsletter.
So welcome, to the newly named newsletter by Te Kāinga Wāhine, At the Tēpu.
We’d loooove to hear your tēpu stories, memories of what was shared at your tēpu, or your grandparents tēpu. Please drop us an email and share with us - we can’t wait to connect with you more this year.

🥳 Te Kāinga Wāhine Memberships - join our community
We would love to invite you to join our membership community, now open and available to the public.
In 2023 we realised just how important it is for wāhine to have a space to be connected, and to grow as business leaders.
We’ve created a membership-based support system, that puts wāhine at the centre and provides access to the services, connections, and learnings needed.
We’re not going to play it down, we are pretty darn proud of the spaces we foster for wāhine, so when we say you really should come and join us - we say it knowing, you will find loads of value in becoming a member.
So join us this year, and be part of a community serving and uplifting wāhine in Aotearoa.
Ngā manaakitanga,
Te Kāinga Wāhine
